In 2022, I created an animated explainer video for ‘The Little Food Festival’, a two-day educational event for children held annually at Fed Square.
My design, titled ‘Preserving the Planet’, was created to play on the Fed Square big screen during the festival and later shown in school seminars. The video teaches children about food waste and empowers them to take action through fun accessible method like pickling at home. The client requested tone and language that was engaging, personable and easily understandable, strictly using no fear-based messaging.
This was a solo project, with all aspects including illustrations, animation, script, VO work and editing completed by me. I developed a bespoke visual language and brought the piece to life using a combination of modern 2D and frame-by-frame animation. The final output was a playful, educational motion piece that effectively captured young audiences and aligned with the clients’ values of sustainability and empowerment.
